How do you determine what constitutes a reasonable salary? As an entrepreneur, you naturally want to keep costs as low as possible, but you also want to recruit and retain good people so that your company survives and grows. This is not achieved by simply paying “market rates”, but also by offering the right secondary employment conditions.
Jaap Scholten from WTW will explain all about current trends in pay and benefits during the lunch on 7 April. Naturally there are geographical differences in salary levels; when it comes to benefits, however, the age of employees seems to be the deciding factor. And then there is the difference between sectors: a tech start‑up employs a different type of person from a bank. In short, secondary conditions nowadays need to be tailor‑made.
And as icing on the cake, this presentation will also provide the latest information on European standards for “pay transparency”, which from June this year will also be enshrined in Spain’s Ley de Transparencia Salarial.
