Marinus van Gestel is an experienced leader with a strong focus on e-commerce, marketplaces and technology scale-ups. He is currently General Manager at Uber Delivery, with responsibility for Uber Eats in Spain.
After studying at Maastricht University, Marinus began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company in São Paulo. He then lived and worked in Latin America for almost twenty years, holding a range of senior leadership and management roles at companies including Groupon, Linio — a general e-commerce platform later acquired by Falabella — and Cornershop, an on-demand retail platform acquired by Uber.
Following his role as General Manager for Cornershop and Uber Retail in Latin America, he returned to Europe in 2024. Based in Berlin, he led Uber Eats in Germany and Poland before moving to Spain.
In his spare time, Marinus enjoys staying active through cycling or getting behind the oven to bake the perfect pizza.
