Geopolitics is playing an increasingly prominent role in shaping our reality — both in business and in society. Rivalry between major powers, armed conflicts, trade wars and the consequences of climate change are developments whose impact we often experience directly and in very tangible ways.
Yet geopolitics also has another, less visible dimension. It requires us to look further ahead, towards the structural forces that will shape global power relations and the world economy during the second half of the 21st century.
These include demographic developments, the international competition for talent, the importance of education, the spread and resilience of democratic values, and the far-reaching impact of artificial intelligence. These issues will determine not only how countries develop, but also where companies will find opportunities, risks, markets and talent.
During this event, we will discuss these fundamental questions with Ignacio Niño Pérez, Senior Advisor at EY and Director of EY Geopolitics. Given the international nature of the topic and the speaker’s background, the session will be held in Spanish or English; attendees are welcome to respond and ask questions in either language.
Drawing on his international experience and geopolitical analysis, Ignacio Niño Pérez will look beyond today’s headlines. Which long-term trends should entrepreneurs and business leaders already have on their radar? How are the relationships between the economy, technology, society and power changing? And what do these developments mean for companies that already operate internationally, or aspire to do so?
An inspiring event for members who want to gain a better understanding of the forces shaping tomorrow’s world — and of what these may mean for their organisation, strategy and international ambitions.
