Since 2019, I have been CEO and co-owner of Decide4AI, a consultancy company in Madrid with about 200 specialists in AI, mathematical optimization, and data science. Our mission: to help organizations make smarter and better decisions with the latest technology.
Besides running Decide4AI, I am also active as an investor in tech startups in Spain and the Netherlands. As of August 2025, I have invested in 14 companies, ranging from AI solutions for geospatial planning to smart workforce planning in retail.
Previously, I was co-founder and COO of Quintiq (from 2000 to 2016), which grew into a global player in supply chain planning and optimization with nearly 1,000 employees. In 2014, Quintiq was acquired by Dassault Systèmes, the second largest software company in Europe.
Additionally, I have served for years as chairman of the Supervisory Board at Planon, an international provider of facility management and real estate software, until its acquisition by Schneider Electric in 2024. I have also been involved as a non-executive at various other tech companies.
Education: After a propaedeutic year (which existed at the time) in Industrial Design in Delft, I studied Business Administration at the University of Groningen.
