Marcel Albers is General Director of Dutch Music Export, an initiative of the Ministry of OCW, Fonds Podiumkunsten and Buma/Stemra, with the aim of strengthening the international position of Dutch music.
With over 35 years of experience in the international music and entertainment industry, he began his career as a manager of Dutch and international artists. Additionally, he worked as a producer and entrepreneur, including as business leader of the television programme Jiskefet, and (co-)founder of various music and media companies, such as Double T Music, Brigadoon Vocal and Flow Records. Together with Jan Douwe Kroeske, he founded the television production company Double 2 Media.
Marcel held director and board positions within organisations such as Synco Network Europe and Ampco Flashlight Group. Currently, he is, among other roles, chairman of the Live Entertainment Production Awards and the Popcoalitie, and active as an advisor within the sector.
Together with his wife, singer Rose Spearman, he founded MARS Worldwide. From 2026 onwards, he is co-founder of the Spanish music company Son Arte Entertainment.
Marcel is also an art lover and collector, and lives alternately in the Netherlands and Spain.
