DBC Lunch 1st December

Philips celebrates this year its 130th anniversary. In 1891 Gerard founded with the financial help of his father Frederik, the Philips Company. They started the production of light bulbs in an empty steam factory in Eindhoven. After a few years younger brother Anton also joined the company. Taking charge of the development of the commercial activities, the company started to grow. This laid the foundation for one of the  Netherlands’ most successful multinational companies.

Over the years, Philips has proven its ability to continuously reinvent itself and thus remain relevant to society. Gerard and Anton’s passion for innovation and entrepreneurship, and for the social core values, lives on in today’s Royal Philips.

In the ongoing quest to remain relevant to society, the company has transformed over the past decade into a global leader in health technology. With a clear goal to improve people’s health and well-being through meaningful innovation, Philips aims to positively impact 2 billion lives per year by 2025.

During our DBC lunch on Wednesday 1 December we commemorate and celebrate this continuous innovation journey of Philips.

For the occasion we have invited Mr. José Manuel Torre, Vice President of Philips Iberia and responsible for the company’s Finance, Business Transformation & Strategy in the Iberian market.

Mr Torre joined Philips more than 35 years ago. He is a highly experienced Chief Financial Officer and has worked on many different business transformation processes and projects over the years.
